Style define our body, or our body devise style.

Is it because of clothes, or what is underneath it that constitute one own personality? somehow I believe that it compliment one another.

What it take to be remember in such an elegant way. What constructs as a style? But what is it really that we admire, is it her smile, her bone, her skin, her hair or what she have on her body? What would be left if we take it all off...

What I Saw Today.

This is what I love about people watching other people, how we see things surround us. Do you look close enough, care enough for details? We are all have a chance. At that moment, I once saw lines and another lines crossing over to form beautiful gestures and then I saw how we began to absorb colors and shine.

I really like his works, it bring out the elegant and charming sense of banality.

Lay it all out

This is what I am doing now, not exactly like in the picture but metaphorically speaking.
I am in a process of laying it all out, referencing to my project, putting together parts and pictures, shuffle different materials, fixing many pieces, throwing away many objects. Simply in the process of making.

Until I could show you.

Seeking for Comfort Part II

Seeking For Comfort Part II

The way people perceived clothes is in pictures of clothed bodies. Dress is indeed a form of visual art, a creation of images with the visible self as its medium. The most important aspect of clothing is the way it look; all other consideration are based on occasions and conditions. The way clothes look depends not only on how they made but also on how they are perceived(by wearer and others).  People dress and look at other dressed people with a set of pictures in mind (pictures in a particular style). The style is what combines the clothes and the body together into the accepted contemporary look of natural reality.

Dressing is always pictures in making, with references to actual pictures that indicate how the clothes are to be perceived. The way looking at clothes may be multiform but it has a certain harmonizing and unifying visual quality, which will be constantly reinforced by the style of the pictures in which it is represented as natural.

From the interview I did with these lovely people on the street, I asked how they felt in that outfit to provoke the idea of self-actualizing through the representation of the self in clothes. Moreover the matter of feeling 'Comfortable' or 'feel good in it' is about subjective dimension of wearer in that style of dress. Style is what give wearer confident. To identify people and their clothes can be done in many forms and for many purposes, but what we can easily pick up from what we choose to wear is our state of mind.

Seeking for Comfort Part I

People choose what they would wear and how they will appear in it - working, shopping, sitting on the bus, walking in the park, according to the way it may suggest certain pictures (living, moving or still) that they feel they wish to resemble. Clothing is felt to be most desirable, and most often spoken of as "Comfortable" when it permits this with no steady effect. what it creates, however, is not so much a good physical feeling as a satisfying self-image - gestures and all needing no demanding adjustments.

Last month, I did an interview with people on the street near where I live (Brick lane, London). I ask them several questions about how they feel in their clothes at that moment. Most of answer are how comfortable they felt in their outfit and how they want to feel comfortable with what they chose to wear on daily basic.

Here are some lovely faces I've talk to.

I haven't finished editing the video of this moment. I will be posting it in the next few days.

Selfless: A Little Less Self.

Mirror Mirror Mirror!

Since I've seen this product last year and I decided to buy one for myself. Its somehow influenced my project and I think because it's related to the idea of self-image and identity which is the main area of my interests. As I spoke to the designer, his intention was to make statement about 'a little less self-image'.

As far as I concern, it's true that we look at the mirror, we care so much about our face, our reflection in the mirror as in other people's eyes. The mirror stage, when we learn to recognize our own reflection in the mirror, we see ourselves in the mirror, we see the world as something apart from your own existence. So we are partly not our own self anymore, we are all influenced by the world we live in.
I believe that somehow when we look at mirror, we seek to see the ideal, excepted self, the one that we want to be. Visual perception of actual reality trained our eyes to understand the way we could be, in clothes, and sometime it is not something you always thought it would be.
